Ethereum beats Facebook and Microsoft
Hola superstars. You’re reading Owlsome— a place where crypto gives birth to comedy without mating.
So straighten your spine and get straight into the below mine.
Note: Please be informed the content below can be funnier than Andrew Tate stealing a kid’s tricycle.
Topics we’re proudly covering today
Ethereum hit $10B in revenue faster than Microsoft and Facebook
Base is winning the race.
Ben Armstrong(Bitboy crypto) was put behind the bars.
Ethereum hits $10B in revenue faster than ‘big tech’.
I can already imagine Vitalik with his happy boner.
Ethereum apparently reached $10B in cumulative revenue 7 years after its launch in 2015.
What’s the fuss? Well, Ethereum kissed this target faster than the most revolutionary companies like Meta and Microsoft—they took 7.5 and 19 years, respectively to hit the $10B revenue.
Ethereum reached this milestone because of me, my grandma, and anyone who transacted on the network.
Be it buying an ERC token, or minting an NFT…we all contributed by paying fees to the network. Kudos to us, and team Ethereum.
Does that mean crypto is doing better than Big tech?
Can’t say for sure, since there’s no way to measure it.
Nonetheless, there are clearly a lot of things that crypto can do better than Big Tech.
Be it better security
Be it Privacy
Hassle-free Ownership
Or even higher profitability
Crypto checks all the boxes. Therefore, crypto will inevitably eat up the shares of Big Tech.
Fun fact: Ethereum’s revenue is 77% down compared to last year, due to Bearish trend.
Base has put other Blockchains to shame.🤭
CoinBase's Base is showing unstoppable growth.
Base was officially launched in February this year, with critics calling it a centralized blunder.
However, it turned out to be web3’s biggest wonder. In just 7 months’ time, it now has a Total value locked (TVL) more than Solana, surpassing $371m.
Son of a biscuit!
Built on Ethereum using Optimism’s open-source OP stack, Base’s TVL has grown by 111% in just the past 41 days.
That’s the same no. of days my owl took to impress the hottest owlet in the jungle. Talk about hard-work.
What’s more?
Well, Base hit 1.88 Million daily transactions on September 14.
And Boi is consistently doing more transactions than Arbitrum and Optimism’s combined sum.
Let’s see how well & long Base can handle such numbers.
BitBoy dragged to jail while on a livestream
Bitboy aka Ben Armstrong was recently thrown into jail.
Not for a crypto-currency-fueled scam, surprisingly.
But for carrying a gun. Holy cat!
Full story
He was skulking around the house of Carlos Ciaz— a former business partner.
Who Ben alleges to be in possession of his Lamborghini, and that he wants to kill him.
As he was streaming himself around Ciaz’s house. Police popped up from nowhere, and asked Bitboy whether he had a gun with him.
BitBoy lied, as usual, ‘saying no’. As a result, police were left with no choice but to drag him to jail.
Later, the fat little monster got released on Bail.
Sadly that's the "End" of the story.
Fun fact: Just about a month back when Ben got kicked out of his own brand, he begged for donations on Twitter to cover for his legal expenses.
That's equivalent to Thanos asking Thor to lend his hammer for a week.
That man has duped thousands of people into investing in scams. And asking for donations…(Talk about Daredevil 2.0)
